Dear Colleagues,
It gives us a great pleasure to announce the Travelling Fellowship of VOS for the year 2018-19
The VOS travelling fellowship program was started in the year 2010-11. The motive behind starting this “short term fellowship program” (STOP) was to provide our members with an opportunity to visit centres of excellence from across the country and to interact and learn from the stalwarts there, thus facilitating their personal & professional growth.
Since 2010, many VOS members have availed this opportunity and visited various centres of their choice. Their fellowship reports are a testament that they have greatly benefitted by this honour.
In continuation of this tradition, we invite applications for the VOS Travelling Fellowships for the year 2018-19.
Every year 2 fellows are selected – one from a major city and one from district or Taluka place so that even those who are working at small places should get an opportunity to benefit from this fellowship program. The Fellowship is for a duration of 5 to 7 days at reputed centres in India in different subspecialties of orthopaedics. We are communicating with various centres to facilitate sending our fellows there. The list of those centres who will agree to accept the fellows from VOSN would be published soon.
A sum of Rupees Fifteen Thousand will be paid to each fellow for this fellowship program for travel, food and their accommodation. After completion of the fellowship, the fellow will have to submit his report to the Secretary, VOS and it will be mandatory to present his experience in a powerpoint format in the subsequent academic meeting of VOSN or during VOSCON.
Those who are interested are requested to kindly submit the completely filled application as early as possible. Applications received after 30th July 2018 will not be accepted.
The applications received will be sent to the Fellowship committee, consisting of senior orthopaedic surgeons who will scrutinize & evaluate the applications and their decision will be final and binding.
Thanking you,
Dr Mahendra Kale,
President, VOS Nagpur.
