Dear friends
Seasons greetings,
We all know that High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a widely performed procedure to treat medial knee arthrosis. In general, published studies on HTO report good long-term results with a correct patient selection and a precise surgical technique.
The ideal candidate for an HTO is a middle aged patient with isolated medial osteoarthritis, with good range of motion and without ligamentous instability. Precise indication, preoperative planning, and operative technique selection are essential to achieve good results.
However some issues that need resolution remain; these include the choice between opening and closing wedge tibial osteotomy, the graft selection in opening wedge osteotomies, the type of fixation and whether HTO significantly affects a subsequent total joint replacement.
NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in collaboration with Vidarbha Orthopaedic Society is organising a CME and Workshop to address the above issues.
We have a team of great faculty lead by eminent Dr. Mangal Parihar who is considered to be one of the most accomplished in this aspect of orthopaedics along with – Dr. K.R Patond who has a huge series of HTOs with over 3 decades of experience in this field would be speaking on medial open wedge osteotomy.
Dr. W. Gadegone the innovative trauma surgeon would be speaking on the new and recently introduced Proximal fibular osteotomy, Dr. S. Subramanian reputed joint replacement surgeon would deal with issues of Knee replacement following HTO and Dr. R.M Chandak, prolific trauma surgeon would take us through a variety of cases of successful and failed HTOs.
We assure you of a short, relevant, pertinent, informative and thought provoking CME. Please enrich the workshop with your presence. Soliciting your participation.
Best Regards
